How Can We Help you?
YOKOHAMA PHYSIO MOVES YOU TO BETTER HEALTH
At Yokohama Physio, we help you reach your health and rehabilitation goals so you can get back to living life on your terms. We begin by assessing your symptoms and discussing your medical history and any health considerations. From there, your physiotherapist creates a personalised treatment plan designed to get you moving, feeling better, and back on track.
Meet the founder -
Yuji Kitano
Bridging the gap between world-class care and the expat community in Japan.
After working as a physiotherapist in both New Zealand and Japan, I began to notice something beyond physical pain.
Many foreigners in Japan weren’t just struggling with injuries; they were also struggling to be understood. Language barriers, unclear systems, and rushed appointments often made getting care stressful and overwhelming.
That experience stayed with me.
Yokohama Physio was created so expats and international families could receive care in a place where they feel heard, safe, and supported — without having to explain themselves twice.
— Yuji Kitano, Founder & Lead Physiotherapist

How Our Approach Differs from Standard Physiotherapy
Traditional physiotherapy often focuses on the painful area — strengthening it, stretching it, or trying to “fix” it.
At Yokohama Physio, we take a broader view.
Pain is often not the true problem — it’s a signal that movement options have narrowed.
Instead of chasing symptoms, we look at how your whole body organises movement. By expanding your movement options and improving efficiency, the body often reduces pain naturally.
We don’t force correction.
We facilitate your body rediscover better ways to move.
When movement changes, pain often becomes less relevant.
