Massage Therapy by Kay Akahane

Kay is a Licensed Massage Therapist (USA), and the first Board Certified Structural Integrator (BCSI) in Tokyo.

  • Structural Integration Session
A holistic bodywork technique that re-educates and re-organizes your body. It involves connective tissue manipulation and movement education to re-align and balance the body’s myofascial structure with gravity. This method helps unwind structural patterns developed over your life, enhancing both physical and emotional well-being.

  • Therapeutic/Remedial Massage
Manual therapy is an effective alternative to prescription painkillers, which can have serious side effects. Research shows that manual therapy can reduce pain and stiffness, lower disability, alleviate anxiety and depression, and address issues like lower-back pain, fibromyalgia, post-operative pain, tension headaches, and arthritis. For those managing chronic pain naturally, manual therapy can improve quality of life by enhancing mood and managing pain, making it a powerful tool for relaxing both mind and body.

  • Prenatal Massage
Eases pregnancy discomforts such as lower back pain, stiff shoulders, and swollen hands and feet. It minimizes stress and promotes relaxation.

    Postpartum Massage
(Up to 3 months after delivery) Helps reduce after-birth discomforts like lower back, neck, and shoulder pain, fatigue, headaches, scar tissue healing, and stress.

  • Swedish Body Massage
Based on Western anatomy and physiology, Swedish Massage can be light or deep, gentle or vigorous, depending on the client's needs. It involves muscle and connective tissue manipulation to enhance function, aid healing, and promote relaxation and well-being.

    Facial Massage (Add-on Service)
Eases muscle tension in the jaw, scalp, and neck, alleviates eye fatigue, and rejuvenates the skin. It restores facial freedom and elasticity, helping clear facial lines. Recommended for those who clench their jaw while sleeping, lead stressful lives, or participate in sports.
